This is my best feline friend Myrrh, I got her for my birthday last year.  Anyone who has followed my blog for an extended amount of time or have seen my facebook photos know this kitty well.  She and I spend a lot of time together and she knows more about me than anyone except maybe my wife.  I took this one of her today as she enjoyed her favorite daytime activity, staring out the bedroom window.  She is not an outdoor cat and when she is outside is attached securely to a leash and harness.  I took her out diligently in the spring and summer but as it got colder and much snowier I started to cut back on our outdoor activities and so to get back at me she waits until my wife goes to work and then assaults me with meows and a flurry of cat swipes to my face until I open the window for her, no matter how cold it is.  So as I do my best to protect myself from the icy blasts of winter she sits contently on the sill watching the outside world she desperately wants to be a part of.  I feel bad for her since she isn’t really free, but if she knew the true dangers of the urban world she wouldn’t be so upset, I just have a tough time telling her and she has a tough time listening.  So we do butt heads over the outside issue and I have caved and brought her out it never lasts long because she doesn’t really like the snow, I think it’s the principle of the matter for her and that’s okay because she deserves to be happy.  I take a lot of pictures of her and she has become so used to my camera she barely gives it a second look now so I get cool shots like this all the time.  I call this one, “Winter Daydreaming”, if you look closely in the reflection of her eyes you can see the trees from outside.  I love my best feline friend very much and although she gets angry at me occasionally I think she loves me too, she always makes me feel better after a bad day.  I am writing about my favorite feline friend again because within a couple of weeks we will be getting another feline friend, Myrrh’s sister’s baby, her niece.  My aunt Shelly has given me one for my birthday this year and since Myrrh came from her I know this new kitty will be just as awesome, I just hope I can train her on a leash too.  I am also happy for Myrrh to get a playmate since our other cat is old and crabby and relishes her privacy my poor kitty hasn’t had much other animal interaction so maybe this playmate will keep her mind off of outside so I don’t have to freeze all winter.  If not that’s okay because when you love something you have to make sacrifices to accommodate both parties involved………..PEACE!!!!!!!!!!!
