Happy St. Patrick's Day to all. I hope everyone had a great day eating corn beef and cabbage and drinking green beer. There is nothing better than a holiday that revolves around drinking copious amounts of alcohol and pretending to be a certain ethnicity. Any excuse to party is good for most people. Since the beginning of humanity we have found reasons to break the dull monotony of everyday life with celebrations. A few thousand years ago we humans would take breaks to celebrate just being able to survive another year. Even though most of our ancient holidays have been taken over and reformed into religious or national celebrations the premis remains the same, enjoy life with those who you go through it with. Today is as much about a celebration of life as it is reserved for some guy in Ireland that made snakes leave and brought Christianity to the heathens on a small island. Holidays are meant to break the monotony of life and remind us that it’s okay to slow down and take a breath every once in a while. It doesn't matter what ethnicity or religion you are, today is about taking a break from life to enjoy the moment and share time with the loved ones around you. I hope everyone has a great day and I wish you all a great St. Patrick's Day, or Celebrate Being Alive Day, whatever you want to call it!
