This picture just has an ominous feeling to it. It has a real sense of power influencing it. Not only the giant utility pole but the sun peeking through the clouds behind it gives me a sense of duality. Man made power in the fore front and the ultimate source of power in our universe sulking behind it. I tried to grasp the significance of not only myself but all of humanity in this universe. We are infantismly small when it comes to everything around us, are we just some random cosmic event sparked to life a billion years ago in a primordial pool of ooze or are we the actual work of something bigger? Which one of those makes more sense? The chances of lightning striking a small pool of soupish water is astronamical, I couldn't even begin to put it into numbers but I guarantee you it's a lot. The chances of something with sentient thought and omnipotent powers is probably even larger than that. Scientists tell us that the universe was created by a big bang, two unstable atoms of something slammed into each other in a vaccuum which in turn created an explosion that literally ripped open the fabric of space and time. My only problem with this theory is that in order to have that explosion you need two atoms and if nothing existed before the big bang where did these atoms come from? It's a catch-22, it's like which came first, the chicken or the egg question. Be that as it may, humanity has been trying to solve this problem forever. Religous fanatics claim the god theory, while scientists turn blue in the face proving the random bang/lightning theory. I have no idea what the answer is, I hope it's the super intellegent being theory it kind of gives life a purpose. If it's the random there's nothing more to life than an eternal nothingness well that sucks but it isn't going to make me quit living life. If all we have for an entire eternity is less than 100 years I certainly want it to mean something. So you can see it either way or choose to ignore it completly it doesn't matter just enjoy what you have and strive to make it all worth while. That's why even though that tower is minute compared to the sun it still looks pretty damn big to me right now. Maybe sometimes seeing is better than believing.
